PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and reliably arrange a shape of a bundle of pipes for binding without laterally arrayed pipes serving as a strut wherein a changeover of members is not required even if a diameter or the number of pipes varies. SOLUTION: The binding apparatus comprises a belt 18 slacking in a U-shape, which can be rolled up and down, where a predetermined number of pipes 2 are horizontally mounted, a bundle shaping machine 22 for bringing both ends of the belt 18 with the pipes 2 mounted close to each other for shaping a bundle of the pipes 2, and a binding machine for binding, with a band, the bundle of the pipes 2 shaped in form by the bundle shaping machine 22.
