PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable cutting device capable of easily and accurately specifying a cable to be cut. SOLUTION: At one end of a communication cable 1 of an object to be cut, a pilot signal is sent out from a pilot signal transmission device 15 by using at least a pair of a core wire conductive body further, at the other end of the communication cable 1 of an object to be cut, all core wire conductive bodies are mutually energized with coating an electric conductive paint 11. At a planned cutting position of the cable, a magnetic field leaking outside from the communication cable 1 is detected by a magnet sensor part 17, and an electrically operated cable cutter controller gives a cutting permit by discriminating whether the communication cable to be detected is the communication cable 1 transmitting a pilot signal or not based on the detected magnetic field signal, thereby the communication 1 to be detected is cut by a motor-driven cable cutter 19.
