PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair treatment composition capable of easily providing a desirable hairdressing without damaging the hair. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by dissolving a reducing agent adapted to cleave the bond of cystine in hair and to recombine the cystine by natural oxidation and a hairdressing macromolecular compound into a refined water, by using a reforming agent directed to set the neutral pH alkaline and to reduce the binding force of the protein constituent in hair in order to improve the permeability of the reducing agent and by admixing a hair protective agent therewith. As the reducing agent, there is used at least one of cysteine, cysteine hydrochloride, acetylcysteine, sulfite, hydrogensulfite and pyrosulfite in the ratio of 0.1 to 2.9 wt.%. The hairdressing macromolecular compound with high curling property is used. This composition can easily provide a hairdressing with a predetermined wave even after shampoo by only applying the composition onto hair, curling the hair while drying it through air blowing and leaving it for a predetermined time.
