PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood collection needle capable of immediately checking the sure pricking of a needle to the testee's vein at the time of blood collection after the pricking. SOLUTION: This blood collection needle has a needle tube 1 which has a hole 11 in at least part of its sidewall and of which both ends are blade surfaces and a passage 21 which is disposed to cover this hole 11 and allows the inside and outside of the needle tube 1 to communicate with each other through the hole 11. The blood collection needle has a transparent or translucent needle tube supporting body 2 which is detained with an air permeable and blood impermeable member 23 at the open end to the outside of the needle tube of this passage, a rubber elastic cap 4 which is detained to the needle tube supporting body 2 so as to hermetically close the one end of the needle tube 1 and a sliding member 5 which is disposed movably in the longitudinal direction of the needle tube 1 along the outer periphery of the needle tube 1 and is capable of closing the hole by sliding together with the shrinkage of this rubber elastic cap 4.
