The filter (1) comprises a two-dimensional mesh made from woven monofilament threads (2,3) of a metal such as stainless steel or a synthetic material with predetermined gaps (V) between them which can be of 1-1000 micro m, depending on the liquid being filtered. The mesh can be woven so that the holes (4) in it are either square or triangular, and it can be made into a flat membrane, folded, or in the form of a sleeve or pouch.
