摘要 The modulator alternately reduces and increases the stimulation interval so that the mean interval does not change. The evaluation device determines the electrical restitution of the heart for this mean interval by measuring the action potential duration. The heart pacemaker has devices for generating successive stimulation pulses with a mean stimulation interval, for modulating individual stimulation intervals (ESI) and for detecting a heart functional parameter and evaluating changes in the parameter caused by the modulation. The stimulation interval is altered depending on the evaluated parameter. The modulator alternately reduces and increases the stimulation interval so that the mean interval does not change. The evaluation device determines the electrical restitution of the heart for this mean interval by measuring the action potential duration. Changes in a measurement parameter for the action potential duration relative to the mean stimulation interval duration caused by modulating individual stimulation intervals are determined and compared with at least one demand value (ERGs) to enable regulation of the mean stimulation interval.
