The manufacturing method provides a flat body (1) for a chip card having 2 opposing surfaces (2,3) and a peripheral edge, by injecting a plastics molding material in a mold via an injection point (9) lying in the upper or lower surface of the obtained card body, e.g. within a recess (5) in the surface of the card for reception of the chip module.
