The connector has a connection component (4) with an external thread (5), over which a clamping nut (7) with an internal thread and a cable feed through opening (9) is threaded. A clamping piece (10) with several clamping legs (12) grips the cable. A seal (13) is provided around the cable. The seal comprises a sealing collar (16) which is of a length such that the clamping legs act over the collar to grip the cable.
