<p>A method for treating glass sheets comprises the sequential steps of applying to a clean surface of a glass sheet an aqueous solution of a flame retardant thermally insulating material, curing the applied coating, applying to the exposed surface of the cured coating an aqueous solution of a protective material, and drying the same. The aqueous solution of flame retardant insulating material may contain a quantity of intumescent material.</p> |
