<p>A method of forming a reseal element (10) through the use of a mold assembly including first and second plates (46, 90), a shell core (54, 58), a center pin (66), a center core (78) and a mold cavity having a shape corresponding to that of the reseal element (10), by injecting material into the cavity through inlet port (96) to form the reseal element (10). The reseal element (10) is formed with an inner surface (16), an outer surface (18), a proximal portion (20), a distal portion (22), a beveled shoulder (24), a centering ring (28), an annular flange (30) and an enlarged bead (32). Thereafter, the center core (78) is retracted from the reseal element (10) to define a gap therebetween, with the second plate (90) having a bottom end (92), and being retracted from the first plate (46) having a top end (50), and from over the reseal element to expose the same.</p> |
