The invention relates to particulate, expandable styrene polymers containing graphite particles with an average particle size of more than 50 mu m, and to a method for producing said styrene polymers by radical polymerisation of styrene in aqueous suspension, the graphite particles, which are suspended in styrene, being added to the polymerisation charge with a conversion of 10 to 100 %.
