The burner (1) is operated with a burnable gas and a gas that contains oxygen. Said burner contains at least one helical gas path for the burnable gas or gas that contains oxygen. Three twisted pipes (2) are used advantageously as a gas path for the burnable gas. A control pipe (4) is also arranged advantageously inside the burner on the center axis in order to monitor the flame by infrared. As a general rule, natural gas is used as a burnable gas and pure oxygen is used as a gas that contains oxygen. |
