<p>A water-soluble, sulfonated, quinophthalone dye composition which has a hue and brightness both suited for ink-jet recording and gives a print having excellent fastness to light, water, etc. The composition is obtained by sulfonating a compound represented by formula (2) wherein X represents hydrogen, chlorine, or bromine. A water-based ink composition containing the composition and a method of ink-jet recording with the ink composition are also provided.</p> |
