Thermostable spinnable mineral composition, use thereof and thermostable mineral fibrous material

In the present invention there is disclosed a thermostable spinnable mineral composition exhibiting high rate of dissolution in biological liquids and containing 53.5 to 64 percent by weight SiOi2, 10 to 20 percent by weight CaO, 10 to 20 percent by weight MgO and 6.5 to 9 percent by weight FeO, whereby the total amount of FeO and Fei2Oi3 is expressed as FeO. Mineral fibrous material being produced from such composition is suitable for purposes of heat or acoustic insulation or as a substrate for cultivation of plants.
