PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a device by connecting it to a portable computer to transmit a signal, decoding a received signal to transfer it to the portable telephone and performing reading from a memory to obtain a call instruction. SOLUTION: A calling accessory 10 can utilize power supply, memory, speaker and display screen 20 of a portable calculating device 12, because it is connected to the device 12. It is possible to send a call in the form of a text message, using a keyboard 18 by providing a modem 22 that is attachable to a supporting plate 14. A user uses the modem 22 and sends a call message from the device 12 by connecting a plug to a city telephone line. The modem 22 can also be stored within the device 12, and the modem 22 can also be connected to the device 12 with a means such as an RS232 port.
