PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly eject a disk cartridge by an auto eject mechanism. SOLUTION: The auto eject mechanism 24 of the recording medium loading device 11 consists of a rising part 52 formed on the left end part 14f of the slider 14, a rotor 56 having an eccentric pin 54 that is driven in contact with the rising part 52, and a motor 58 for rotating the rotor 56. In addition, the rising part 52 is situated on the extension obliquely against the insert/eject direction (A, B directions) of the disk cartridge. Consequently, when the eccentric pin 54 pressurizes the rising part 52 of the slider 14 in the eject direction (B direction) through the rotation of the rotor 56, the rising part 52 is imparted by force Fa in the B direction and force Fb in the C direction. As a result, the force for rotating counterclockwise acts on the slider 14, enabling the force for rotating clockwise to be cancelled.
