IMPROVED FLUID DISPENSER

A fluid dispenser (20) is disclosed for dispensing a fluid from a pouch (200) having a discharge passage that extends along a tortuous path. The dispenser (20) has a dispenser station and dispenser mechanism in the dispenser station. In one aspect the dispenser mechanism comprises a backstop (80) on one side of the dispenser path and a cam (60) operated cylindrical roller (62) confronting the backstop (80), located on the other side of the dispenser path. The roller (62), is attached to a roller bracket (68), which is pivotally attached to the interior of a hollow pushbutton (44). The pushbutton (44) is mounted in an opening in the dispenser front cover (14). Springs (78) an attached to the bracket (68) and the front cover (14) which maintain the roller (62) against the flexible dispenser compartment (132) of the pouch (200). Depressing the pushbutton (44) forces the roller (62) to trap the upper portion of the pouch flexible dispenser compartment (132) between the roller (62) and backstop (80) to initially seal the dispenser compartment (130) at its upper end and further pushbutton (44) action forces the roller (62) down the dispenser compartment (132) thereby causing expulsion of the fluid trapped in the dispenser compartment (132).
