PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a remote meter inspecting terminal device which allows a subscriber to carry out meter inspection with the same device, regardless of an analog telephone and an ISDN telephone. SOLUTION: This remote meter inspecting terminal device 107 communicates meter inspecting data and a monitor and control signal with a remote meter inspecting center via a communication network. In this case, the device 107 performs remote meter inspection via an analog telephone network 111 performing communication control based on a no-ringing signal system, also receives a caller's telephone number signal transferred in an ISDN network 211 via the analog port of an ISDN terminal adapter 222, identifies that it is an incoming call reception from a remote meter inspecting center 10 and performs remote meter inspection.
