PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent collision between heads even when a conventionally unexpected large impact force is applied, and to improve usability regarding a disk device provided with a pair of heads disposed to holds a recording medium therebetween. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a holder 5 for holding a disk cartridge 4 inserted therein, a slider for moving the holder 5, lower and upper heads 10 and 12, and a shock absorbing member 20 positioned between the heads 10 and 12 during non-recording/reproducing time, and retreated from between the heads 10 and 12 during recording/reproducing time. The shock absorbing member is made of an elastic plate material, and presses the disk cartridge 4 against the bottom surface of the holder 5 following the insertion of the disk cartridge 4 into the holder 5.
