PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist specification setting by judging whether or not some equipment can be mounted on a product which actualizes a variety of specifications by mounting equipment selected out of different kinds of equipment on the product main body. SOLUTION: The relation between the main body 22 of the product and equipment 24 is represented as design reserve showing mount relation of design and sales reserve showing mount relation of sales. Equipment 24 belongs to one of equipment groups having the same function and equipment which is selected from one equipment group and mounted on the main body 22 is single. The relation between two pieces of equipment belonging to different equipment groups is represented as mutual restriction showing whether or not they can be mounted at the same time. The mutual restriction also includes mutual restriction of design and mutual restriction of sales. When new reserve or mutual restriction is set, whether they are contradictory to existent reserve and mutual restriction is detected and if so, a solution for evading that is presented.
