PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque motor capable of decreasing the length of a conductor to the cross section of the core member of a coil part. SOLUTION: A torque motor 20 is provided with a rotor 30, a stator core 40, and a coil. The cross section of the iron core 51 of the coil has a shape such that part of a circle is cut linearly and is of rough D-shape having a circumferential part 511 and a straight part 512. It is thus possible to decrease the length of a conductor necessary to wind it around an iron core 51 by a prescribed number of turns. By disposing the straight part 512 of the iron core 51 in parallel to the axial direction of the rotor 30, its length to the diametrical direction of the rotor 30 of the iron core 51 is decreased. Therefore, the length of the arm part 42 of the stator core 40 can be decreased. It is thus possible to downsize the whole constitution of the torque motor 20.
