PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for carpet backing having extremely excellent resilience in performance of carpet after backing. SOLUTION: This resin composition for carpet backing comprises (A) a polyurethane-based emulsion obtained by reacting, in an aqueous medium, a polyurethane prepolymer having isocyanate group in the molecule with (a) a vinyl alcohol-based polymer having at least one kind of functional group selected from amino, primary hydroxy and acetoacetyl in the molecule and (b) a low-molecular weight compound having amino or hydroxy in the molecule and (B) a compound having two or more functional groups selected from aziridine, epoxy, oxazoline, oxazine, isocyanate and carbodiimide in the molecule.
