PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly reliable optical recording medium and a large capacity storage system and to enable the storage control of the optical recording medium by the simple system and with the high reliability. SOLUTION: A 3.5 in. magneto-optical disk having the storage capacity of 640 MB is applied as the optical recording medium M1, and the manufacturer' s test zone (-84 to -54 track) of an access signal area 11 is formed as the label signal area 11a consisting of a magneto-optical recording layer, and the manufacturer's test zone (18480 to 18511 track) of an access signal area 12 is formed as the label signal area 12a consisting of the magneto-optical recording layer. On all sectors of these label signal areas 11a, 12a, the label signals constituted of three kinds of signals to show the attribute of the medium M1 are preliminarily recorded for every optical recording medium M1.
