PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiving device capable of effectively removing heat received from the synchrotron emission light of a light receiving plate. SOLUTION: This light receiving device has light receiving plates 22a, 22a1, 22a2,..., laid at both sides of a beam duct 21, adjustment devices 24a and 24b for freely advancing and retreating the light receiving plates 22a, 22a1, 22a2,..., a control mechanism part 30 for driving the adjustment devices 24a and 24b, and a cooling device 23 formed inside the light receiving plate 22a, 22a1 and 22a2,.... The light receiving device has an adjustment device on a light receiving plate and freely advances and retreats the light receiving plate, depending on the magnitude of a thermal load received from SOR light. At the same time, a cooling device is formed inside the light receiving plate and heat received from SOR light is removed. As a result, the density of a thermal load received from SOR light is lowered, thereby restraining the temperature rise of the light receiving plate and maintaining the light receiving plate in a safe state.
