PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent airtightness breakage in a container consisting of an insulation substrate and a metallic cover, thus allowing electronic parts thereinside to work normally and stably for a long period. SOLUTION: This electronic device is provided with an insulation substrate 1 which has a mounting part 1a in which an electronic part 3 is mounted to its upper surface as well as a frame-like metallized metallic layer 5 adhered thereto as to surround the mounting part 1a, the electronic part 3 to be mounted to the mounting part 1a, and a metallic cover 2 which is joined with the metallized layer 5 by electron beam welding by means of a brazing material 6 with a melting point of 700 deg.C or higher and which packages the electronic part 3 airtightly between the insulation substrate 1 and itself. The metallic cover 2 has a melting trace 2a with a depth of 30-80% of the thickness thereof that is formed by electron beam 7. Thus, the airtightness of the container can be made high and the electronic part 3 be operated normally and stably for a long period.
