A rotary cultivating machine is provided with co-operating pairs of "L-shaped" blades 10 attached to radially extending flanges 9, and a stripper member 15 which extends between adjacent edges of the blades to engage sods 14. The stripper member is adjustably attached by means of sleeves 18, 18b and clamping screws 18a, 18c to a cross-bar 16 fixed relatively to the machine. The member has a plate 17 attached thereto, and is also supported from the machine by a vertically adjustable thrust rod 28. The "L-shaped" blades have flexible blades 12 attached to their trailing edges and the rotor axis is rotated in the direction in which it would roll due to the forward movement of the machine, but at a faster rate. The blades may alternatively be rigid and hingedly connected to the blades (Fig. 4, not shown). The blades may be "T-shaped, and arranged with the 'T' extending at an angle to the axial direction of the rotor axis.</p> |
