PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bit search circuit and a bit searching method capable of quickly executing bit search and reducing a circuit scale in a bit search system. SOLUTION: When a clock signal CLK is outputted, a data latch 22 latches input data signal D, a signal latch 23 latches a detection sort signal K, the input data signal D is supplied to an '1' detection circuit 24 and a '0' detection circuit 25 connected in parallel during the period of latching the input data signal D in the data latch 22 to execute '1' detection processing for changing bit data from '0' to '1' and '0' detection processing for changing bit data from '1' to '0' included in the signal D, and a selector circuit 27 outputs selected '1' detection or '0' detection. Thus bit search processing can be quickly executed.
