PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing surely with enhanced print accuracy by starting generation of next print timing pulse train upon elapsing a total required time determined by a required time determining means after starting generation of a print timing pulse train. SOLUTION: An up-counter is restarted while keeping the pulse interval of previous reference position interval T1, T2, T3,... being loaded to a latch circuit 424 and restarted with a delay of first reference position interval T1 behind a reference position pulse at all times. Since it is not restarted forcibly by third time and subsequent reference position pulses LD3, LD4,..., a print timing pulse having an extremely short interval is not generated at any place. Consequently, the number for dividing the reference position pulse can be increased and printing can be performed surely with enhanced print accuracy.
