PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler for a vacuum generator using a wet vacuum pump which is capable of efficiently separating and removing oil contained in exhaust gas and effective for silencing. SOLUTION: A corrugated plate 40 is tightly stretched on the inside wall of a vertically rising cylinder 10. A partition plate 50 is provided rising in the cylinder 10 at one side thereof for partitioning the cylinder 10 into a small room 60 and a large room 70. Gaps 80, 82 are provided between the lower end and each side of the partition plate. Exhaust gas from a vacuum generator flows through a gas inflow passage 90 into the upper part of the small room 60 and drops in the small room 60 while alternately colliding with the inside of the small room 60 between the right and left corrugated plate 40 and the partition plate 50. The exhaust gas flows through the gaps 80, 82 into the large room 70 and drops in the large room 70 while alternately colliding with the inside of the large room 70 between the right and left corrugated plates 40 and the partition plate 50 again, and it is then exhausted through a gas outflow passage 100 to outside air.
