PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera capable of automatically discriminating the kind of a lens connected to a video camera main body and changing over a changeover switch to a corresponding side. SOLUTION: A CPU 5 changes over the changeover switch 4 to a side C first. Thus, detection voltage 106 for discriminating the kind of the lens corresponding to the input impedance of the lens 2 is outputted to the CPU 5. When the voltage 106 is equal to or above a threshold, the CPU 5 changes over the changeover switch 1 to a side B. Otherwise, the CPU 5 changes over the switch 1 to a side A. Thus, a control signal (DC voltage 100 or video signal 101) in accordance with the kind of the lens 2 is automatically outputted to the lens 2.
