PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit insertion of a printing drum which is drawn out when a paper cylinder is away from a specified position. SOLUTION: The stencil printing device is equipped with a drive motor 5, a paper cylinder 8 and a printing drum 10. The paper cylinder 8 is interlocked with the printing drum 10 through a motor 75. The printing drum 10 is detached from a drive mechanism when the paper cylinder 8 is set at a specified paper cylinder position. It is detected by a specified paper cylinder position sensor 103 whether the paper cylinder 8 is set at a specified paper cylinder position. When the printing drum 10 released from the drive mechanism is to be connected to the drive mechanism, a control 110 makes a display means 114 display the non-presence of the paper cylinder 8 at the specified paper cylinder position to urge a user to be aware of it, provided that the specified paper cylinder position sensor 103 detects the non-setting of the paper cylinder 8 at the specified paper cylinder position. When the printing drum 10 is inserted in disregard of the display, the control device 110 makes a socket 60 to which the printing drum 10 is connected, to be shifted in the axial direction is illustrated and also the printing drum 10 to be unloaded to the outside of the device.
