Devices are provided in the gas bag (3), which connect opposing sections (21,25) of the bag wall (5). The devices are so arranged that they counteract a shape alteration of the bag (3) when the knee penetrates it. A gas generator inflates the bag. The devices arranged in the gas bag incorporate catchment straps. The lower part of the bag in the installed and inflated condition, through at least one catchment strap arranged in the lower part, has a lesser volume and a lesser depth than the upper part. |
