PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition which can give a coating film excellent in weatheability, durability, appearance, heat curability, impact resistance, and adhesion by using a specified amount of a vinyl copolymer having crosslinking groups being mainly silyl groups and having a specified glass transition temperature and a specified number-average molecular weight and a specified amount of an epoxy resin as the essential components. SOLUTION: This composition consists essentially of 100 pts.wt. vinyl copolymer component having crosslinking groups being mainly silyl groups of the formula and having a glass transition temperature of 40-100 deg.C and a number- average molecular weight of 2,000-20,000 and 1-30 pts.wt. epoxy resin component, and wherein vinyl copolymer component constitutes at least 20 wt.% of the entire crosslinkable polymer. In the formula, R1 is a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl, or a 7-10C aralkyl; X1 is H, a halogen, OH, a (thio)alkoxyl, phenoxy, an acyloxy, aminoxy, a ketoximate, amino, amide, or an alkenyloxy; and a is 0-2. Desirably the composition further contains 0.1-10 pts.wt. silane coupling agent. |
