PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact roll paper holder which can attach and detach a roll paper with one operation. SOLUTION: The holder is provided with supporting parts 3, 3 capable of forming a pair on a front side compared with a vertical wall surface and a pair of holding members 4, 4 which are swingably provided at the respective supporting part so as to extend opposed to each other to hold the roll paper between the respective supporting parts in the state of being rotatable horizontally at the time of swinging in a direction making each of them approach each other and to insert the roll paper between the respective parts 3, 3 at the time of swinging in a direction making each of them move away from each other. The respective members 4, 4 are respectively swingable in the direction of moving away from each other by tilting upward/forward.
