PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dust collecting effect of a cyclone separating type dust collector by reducing dust, which is collected by the collector, sucked into a sucking side. SOLUTION: In a vacuum cleaner with the dust collector 4 by a cyclone separating system, the collector 4 is provided with a cylindrical dust collecting part 6 for connecting a suction pipe (tip pipe 7) for connecting a suction tool in the direction of the tangent of a cylinder and a communicating pipe (rear tip pipe 8) connected with its one end to communicate with the side of an electric blower. Concerning the part 6, the side of one end where the communicating pipe (pipe 8) is positioned smaller in a diameter than the other end side and a step part 6c is formed between the large diameter part and the small diameter part. In addition, a comb like projection 13 is erected on the other end side of the part 6. In addition, a comb like projection 14 is formed also at the periphery of the communicating hole 6d of the part 6c.
