PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the state of vibrations of a measurement object by a simple process. SOLUTION: The judge method comprises a process F1 of irradiating a measurement object with a laser light oscillated by a laser resonator, a process F2 of receiving a returning light of the laser light radiated in the irradiation process F1, a process F3 of photoelectrically converting a laser light self mixing with the laser light received in the reception process F2 and oscillated in the resonator, and a signal process of analyzing the state of a waveform of beat waves output after converted in the photoelectric conversion process F3. The signal process has a process F4 of extracting a saw tooth wave from the waveform of beat waves, a first judge process F6 after F5 of judging that an amplitude of the measurement object in an extraction range where the saw tooth wave is extracted is not shorter than half a wavelengthλof the laser light (λ/2) when the saw tooth wave is extracted in the extraction process F4, and a second judge process F7 after F5 and almost simultaneously with the first judge process F6 of judging that the amplitude of the measurement object in a range where the saw tooth wave is not extracted is shorter than half the wavelength of the laser light (λ/2) when the saw tooth wave is not extracted in the extraction process F4.
