PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline secondary battery having a high manufacturing yield due to a low shortcircuit occurrence rate, and a rise in battery internal pressure restrained. SOLUTION: In this cylindrical alkaline secondary battery, an electrode group having a stacked sheet of a positive electrode plate, a separator and a negative electrode plate overlaid on top of each other and spirally wound with the positive electrode plate kept inside, is sealed in a battery can, together with an alkaline electrolyte. In this case, a sub-separator 10 having a plurality of openings 10a is laid in such a state as overlaid on a separator 3 at the winding start position of a stacked sheet B. |
