PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate electromotive force, only depending on a measuring objective component in measured gas, and to simplify structure to facilitate manufacturing. SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide gas sensor element 10 is provided with a base body 12 with a built-in surface heater 11, a gas permeable reference electrode 14 comprising gold fixed to a recess 13 of the base body 12, a solid electrolyte layer 15 fixed thereon, a sensing electrode 16 comprising gold fixed thereon, a gas permeable metal salt layer 17 comprising a metal carbonate fixed thereon, a seal part 18 comprising low melting temperature glass for sealing a gap between the base body 12 and the solid electrolyte 15, and 0.2 mm diam of through hole 19 for penetrating the recess 13 of the base body 12 to bring the reference electrode 14 into contact with the outside air. A boundary face between the reference electrode 14 and the solid electrolyte 15 is allowed to come into contact with measured gas via the through hole 19 and the gas permeable reference electrode 14. |
