TWO-DIMENSIONAL INTERLEAVING PROCESS FOR CDMA TRANSMISSION OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL TIME SLOT DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communicating method resistant to burst noise or inter- code interference by calculating respective indexes i, j to be used for generating a RAM address for storing or reading a symbol in a RAM. SOLUTION: Symbol marks are stored in the RAM 940 in an interleaved state and are read in order to be transmitted successively. In order to store symbol data successively, an instruction is given to a multiplexer 942 by the selective control signal of a line 944 to select the output of a counter 950 on a line 946 as an address input to be given to the address bus input of the RAM 940. The counter 950 counts stored addresses successively together with the period of a symbol clock 952. Then, during storing of symbols on a data bus 954 whose width is for a portion of one symbol, an address calculator 958 calculates the values of i and j with respect to all the symbol indexes through the use of a parameter from an appropriate input and stores addresses generated from the values of i and j on the RAM 940.
