PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make lowering of picture in company with local dislocation of a releasing agent from a fixing device to an image carrier possible to be effectively prevented. SOLUTION: In this both side image forming device composed so as to respectively fix the unfixed image successively formed on both sides of a sheet 4 by the fixing device 5 when a both-side mode is selected, the device is provided with releasing agent electric field removing means 7 making the release agent stuck on a non-image carrying surface side of a sheet 4 possible to be removed by the electric field effect, on the sheet transport route for returning the one side fixed sheet 4 allowed to pass through the fixing device 5 to the sheet transfer region in the image reforming unit 1, or release agent electric field removing means 8 making the releasing agent stuck on the image carrier 2 surface possible to be shift/removed to the contact type transfer member 3 side by the above electric field effect at the arbitrary timing other than the image forming cycle.
