PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely control the setting of display image quality of a display device and the setting of photographing image quality of an image pickup device which are connected via a data communication bus by transmitting image quality adjustment data via the data communication bus and allowing a terminal receiving the data to conduct its operation, according to the image quality adjustment data. SOLUTION: Image quality adjustment data are transmitted via a data communication bus, and a terminal receiving the image quality adjustment data is operated according to the image quality adjustment data. In this system, a video processing section 62 adjusts the image quality of a video signal to be recorded under the control of a system controller 76. The image quality adjustment information is written in an EEPROM 88, that keeps storage even when a main power supply of a VCR 56 is interrupted.
