PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the operation of a slave set side as quick as possible at the time of calling, when communication equipment is used in a master-slave form. SOLUTION: A CPU decides whether or not a seizing signal is received (S10) and decides whether or not a calling signal is received (S18), after receiving the seizing signal when it is called from the opposite calling party. In this case, the CPU acquires an identification number (S13), by receiving an ID signal within a prescribed period from receiving the seizing signal until receiving the calling signal, and immediately after that, establishes a channel for exchanging a communication signal with a slave unit (S17 and S28). After the channel is established, the CPU then transmits the communication signal to the slave unit through the already established channel (S19) by receiving the calling signal following the seizing signal and the ID signal.
