PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily confirm a telephone number from a place away from a telephone set by detecting and storing the telephone number of a calling side which comes to the telephone set and displaying the stored telephone number on a television receiving part connected to the telephone set. SOLUTION: When an incoming call is received at a telephone set 2 connected to a television receiver, a CPU 14 sends a control signal that makes the bell of the telephone set 2 sound to the telephone set 2 to ring the bell and finishes processing, when the power of a TV functioning part 100 is in an off state. Because a RAM 17 stores a telephone number detected by a number display circuit 13, a user can show it on a CRT display 24 later and confirm it. When the power of the part 100 is in an on state, the CPU 14 superimposes the telephone number detected by the circuit 13 on an image outputted by a TV circuit 21 with an OSD circuit 22 by drawing it in a VRAM 18 and shows it on the CRT display 24.
