PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous rewriting of program contents accompanied by the runaway of program processing. SOLUTION: At the time of initializing one chip microcomputer, only when an RS flip flop 21 is reset, the designated page of a flash memory 1 is protect released. When initialization is insufficient, the value of an address register 3 for the flash memory 1 is highly unlikely to be 0 address while the RS flip flop 21 is set. Then, when the runaway of the program processing of the microcomputer is generated, the designated page of the flash memory 1 is not protect released. Thus, erroneous rewriting can be surely prevented.
