摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the heat distribution on the seal sliding surface, and to improve cooling/lubricating efficiency by forming a seal chamber to communicate with a sealing liquid passage of a seal housing, and arranging plural blowout ports for supplying sealing liquid in the outer peripheral surface direction of a seal ring in the circumferential direction of the seal chamber. SOLUTION: In a vertical centrifugal pump, when an impeller shaft 9 is rotated by a driving motor, pumping operation of a handling liquid is performed by an impeller on the lower end of the impeller shaft 9. A sealing liquid flows in a seal chamber 6 through an inflow passage simultaneously with actuation of this centrifugal pump, and receives centrifugal force by torque of a seal ring 1 by rotation of the impeller shaft 9, so that the sealing liquid flows in an outside passage 29a of the seal chamber 6 from a sealing liquid inflow passage, enters an inside passage 29b from vertically directionally different plural blowout ports 26a arranged in a shower ring 19 while flowing in the peripheral direction in this passage 29a, and is then delivered in the upward direction to be supplied to the vicinity of a mechanical seal 3.
