PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of reducing banding in continuos printing. SOLUTION: Print masks 228 which are identical in the measuring are defined and one 225 of the masks is selected therefrom. A nonvolatile memory stores an operation instruction. A printing stage controls forming of a mark on a printing medium by using the selected mask. The printing stage comprises a pen carriage that can reciprocate, a conveying mechanism 62-64 that achieves relative movement of the printing medium and the pen carriage in the orthogonal direction and a pen 18 that is conveyed in multiple passes across each pixel by the pen carriage and forms a mark by ejecting ink 54. One or more digital processors control the operations. |
