<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for insulating and waterproofing treatments that enables a tube manufactured by extrusion forming to be used, ensures sufficient waterproofing performance, and provides good assembling workability. SOLUTION: Both side parts of an outer sheath tube 1 are inserted into the groove 20a of adapters 21, 22, and the diameters of the adapters 21, 22 and both end of the outer sheath tube 1 are expanded and supported with a diameter expanding and supporting member 3. Then, by disassembling and removing the diameter expanding and supporting member 3, the adapters 21, 22 and outer sheath tube 1 shrink to be mounted on a cable connection part. The inside and outside diameters of the groove 20a before the expansion are roughly equal to those of the outer sheath tube 1. Thus, the outer sheath tube 1 can easily be inserted into the groove 20a. Also, the adapters 21, 22 have the inside diameter smaller than the outside diameter of the cable insulating material. When a cable is inserted, therefore, the interfaces between the adapters 21, 22 and cable insulating material and between the groove 20a and outer sheath tube 1 contact firmly to ensure waterproofing performance.</p> |
