PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a muffler of superior airtightness and mighty strength by forming a muffler integrally with an outer casing, an end plate and a neck part and fitting the neck part into an inlet pipe or an outlet pipe. SOLUTION: An internal structural body 47 including an inlet pipe 40 and an outlet pipe 42 is inserted or press fitted into an opened outer cylinder 48. The open end diameter of the outer cylinder 48 is reduced by spinning work and neck parts 48c, 48f are formed on the reduced diameter end. The neck parts 48c, 48f are fitted into the outer circumference of the inlet pipe 40 and/or the outlet pipe 42.
