PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten working time with simple assembly work and to reduce manufacturing cost by forming a plurality of sharp-pointed protrusions at fitting plates fastened along both side edges of a flexible band-shaped heat insulator, thrusting the sharp-pointed protrusions into the flexible band-shaped insulator, and bending the protruding ends to connect the fitting plates to the flexible band-shaped insulator. SOLUTION: A fire resistant band for a joint is composed of a flexible band- shaped heat insulator 2 formed by surrounding the peripheral surface of flexible rectangular heat insulating material such as a ceramic fiber blanket or a glass fiber blanket by wire gauze formed of staniless wire material, and fitting plates 3 made of metal plates of L-shape fastened along both side edges of the flexible band-shaped heat insulator 2. A plurality of fitting plates 3 are respectively fixed to the side edges of adjacent structures to shut out a joint positioned between both structures, by the flexible band-shaped heat insulator 2. In this case, a plurality of sharp-pointed protrusions 6 are integrally formed at the fitting plate 3. The sharp-pointed protrusions 6 are thrusted in the thickness direction of the flexible band-shaped heat insulator 2, and the protruding ends are bent to connect the fitting plate 3 to the band-shaped heat insulator 2.
