PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the connection device used for data communication between information processing units to easily connect each information processing unit independently of positions of the information processing units that are a personal computer and a portable terminal device. SOLUTION: A connection board 3 is provided with a changeover circuit 13 that selects a wired connection function using an RS 232C serial communication port with respect to a personal computer(PC) 1 or a radio connection function via telephone communication sections 14-16. In the case of directly connecting a portable information device 2 to the connection board 3, data are synchronized between the (PC) 1 and the device 2 through data communication processing by wired connection. In the ease of phone connection of the portable information device 2 to the connection board 3, data are synchronized between the (PC) 1 and the device 2 through data communication processing by the radio connection function.
